Plum Cake

My dad’s favourite cake and when you make it you’ll see why. It’s not intoxicatingly sweet and has a wonderful flavour from the yeast and lemon zest in the cake dough. This is a german cake by origin and is more like a slice than your typical traditional cakes. When you make it, I guarantee it won’t last long!

Bolar Roast in the Bag

A roast is a great way to bring the family together. This recipe uses a traditionally tough cut of meat and turns it into a tender and moist dinner for all to enjoy. The mustard adds a wonderful flavour without the harsh mustard flavour so don’t be scared to make this.

Sunkofleky

I haven’t yet met a person who hasn’t enjoyed this family friendly meal (exception are vegetarians of course!). It’s simple to put together with only a few key ingredients. You can have sunkofleky put together in no time to serve for your next family meal.

Stuffed Capsicums

An old time family favourite. This is a great way to use excess capsicums while serving vegetable rich meal onto the dinner table. These stuffed capsicums are wonderful when served straight out of the oven, but are even better the next day!

Chicken, Leek & Mushroom Risotto

This is definitely our family’s favourite meal of them all. I haven’t yet met someone who hasn’t liked this chicken, leek and mushroom risotto dish when they’ve had it. Don’t be put off by the fact this is a risotto recipe… it’s actually incredibly simple to make!

Ricotta Gnocchi

Gnocchi make a wonderful change to pasta such as spaghetti and penne. It’s a fair amount of effort to make but not complicated if you’re an intermediate level cook. Definitely worth giving a go! Thanks to the ricotta, these are light and not stodgy like their potato cousins.

Apple Crumble Pie

A warm and homely dessert that’s definitely a favourite of ours during the winter months. This recipe is a spin on two recipes to get the best of both worlds.

Cucumber Salad

This is a salad my mum used to make regularly because dad always grew far too many cucumbers in the garden. It’s a light salad to eat with a tangy flavour. Add or omit other vegetable ingredients to make this salad your own.
